How the NRA helped defeat the NRA’s gun control agenda

Newsbusters is pleased to announce that the National Rifle Association is donating $50,000 to the University of Maryland’s Center for Gun Policy and Research (CGPPR) in support of their gun violence research.

Newsbusters has been a supporter of the Center since the NRA was founded in the late 1970s.

CGPPR has been instrumental in researching and fighting the Second Amendment rights of millions of law-abiding Americans.

CPGPR’s work has been featured on CNN, MSNBC, and other major television news outlets.

The NRA’s campaign to ban semi-automatic rifles and the associated background checks, and to eliminate the federal ban on semi-auto rifles, were both defeated in the 2016 election.

CPPPR is committed to protecting Second Amendment freedoms at the local level through advocacy, education, and research.

This contribution will allow CGPPS research to continue and further the Center’s work to protect gun owners and law-enforcement officers in Maryland.
