Adidas is making a bid to keep Nike out of the shoes business, and a new ad campaign will feature a pair of Nike sneakers.
Nike, however, is not the only brand on the rise in the footwear market.
The ad agency DDB is taking aim at another sneaker manufacturer that has been losing money, Adidas.
Its latest ad campaign, called “Nike Is A Great Company,” will debut on Monday, Feb. 6, the first day of the new NBA season.
In the ad, the company shows off the shoes of the top-selling NBA players — LeBron James, Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant.
The campaign will show viewers a preview of the next ad, a Nike-branded sneaker that will be sold on Nike.com in time for the Feb. 10 NBA All-Star Game.
A few weeks ago, the ad agency said it was working with Adidas to help boost the company’s business and generate more interest in its products.
The NBA’s ad agency, Parker Brothers, has been a key player in the growth of the NBA since its inception in the 1990s.
